About

I'm Jenny Hua (华臻), an investor focused on AI and new materials. I worked in investment banking at CITIC Securities and Everbright Securities from 2014–2019 on IPOs and restructurings, then from 2019 moved into new-energy and new-materials industrial M&A and investment work, seconded to portfolio companies — Polytron (modified plastics), Huitian New Materials (adhesives), Zhongli (PV backsheets), and Suntech — as board secretary and general counsel, leading their M&A and securities work. Zhongli is a textbook case of Daode Capital, a PE fund, taking control of a listed company: Daode led its governance as controlling shareholder, then gradually stepped back to a minority stake and exited in an orderly way. Since 2025 I've been at Daode Capital, focused on new-energy, new-materials, and AI industrial investment opportunities. Having sat on both the sell side and the buy side of deals is the main capital I bring to how I think about investing and M&A.

Since 2019 I've also organized recurring alumni salons — SUFE's Jingshi Banking Club and Hongwa Finance — on topics like the STAR Market, restructuring rules, control transfers, new materials investing, and hard-tech IP strategy. More recently I'm frequently invited to moderate or join panels at forums like the Hongwa M&A Forum and the Times China CFO Forum, and won the "2025 SUFE Alumni Startup & Investment Annual Honors — Outstanding Investor Award." Write-ups of these are on the Podcast & Events page.

I host Zhenpin M&A Afternoon Tea (臻品并购下午茶), a biweekly podcast breaking down M&A and IPO cases across A-share, Hong Kong, and US markets — the deal structures, and the people behind them.
